Your Dream Home
I could say my dream home looks like this..
Or like this……
But really… my dream home looks like this….
Wherever this man is, I’m home. Isn’t it cool when dreams come true?

DAY FIFTEEN:
Favorite Bible Verse
“Thou Shalt Change Thy Blog Topic To..”
Favorite Song Lyrics
This is HARD, but here is a quick smattering of some of my favorite sing lyrics…
“I wanna lay you down on a bed of roses,
For tonight I’ll sleep on bed of nails!
I wanna be just as close as,
Your holy ghost is,
And lay you down on a bed of roses” –Bon Jovi
“All the things I still remember,
Summers never looked the same.
Years go by and time just seems to fly,
But the memories remain.
Summers never looked the same.
Years go by and time just seems to fly,
But the memories remain.
In the middle of September,
We still played out in the rain.
Nothing to lose but everything to gain,
Reflecting now on how things could’ve been,
It was worth it in the end.” –Daughtry
We still played out in the rain.
Nothing to lose but everything to gain,
Reflecting now on how things could’ve been,
It was worth it in the end.” –Daughtry
“Marry me, Juliet, you never have to be alone!
I love you, and that’s all I really know!
I talked to your dad, go put on a white dress!
It’s a love story, baby just say ‘yes’!” –Taylor Swift
“Everybody rides on the karma train!” –Richie Sambora
“I am hanging on every word you say, and
even if you don’t wanna speak tonight, it’s alright, it’s alright with me.
‘Cause I want nothing more,
Then to sit outside of heaven’s door,
and listen to you breathing…” –Lifehouse
“ALL SHE NEEDS IS SOME CHLOROFORM AND SHE’LL BE MINE!!!” –Flickerstick
“When the world gets in my face, I say: HAVE A NICE DAY!!!” –Bon Jovi
“Melt into me!
Don’t you want to be the ones that last forever?
I’ll be your everlasting!
And enemies,
Don’t you want to be the ones that last forever?
I’ll be your everlasting!
And enemies,
They take your peace but they won’t last forever!
I’ll be your sword and shield and,
I’ll be your sword!
I’ll be your shield!” –Sister Hazel
I’ll be your sword and shield and,
I’ll be your sword!
I’ll be your shield!” –Sister Hazel
“In this crazy life,
And in these crazy time,
It’s you, it’s you!
You make me sing!
You’re every line,
You’re every word,
You’re everything.” –Michael Buble…our first song as huband and wife!!! I love you, Jenn!

Favorite Song Lyrics
Favorite Song Lyrics
(this is changed from favorite Bible verse, because I don’t have one)
I have a LOT of favorite song lyrics. . . .A LOT. Here are a few verses from a few different songs that have meant different things to me at different times. . .
“Sometimes people leave you, halfway through the wood. Do not let it grieve, you decide what’s good. You decide alone, but no one is alone. You move just a finger, say the slightest word. . .something’s bound to linger, be heard.” –Into the Woods (musical)
“When the weight of the world can be a heavy load, I’ll stay with you, here on the road.” –Sister Hazel
“When you’re weary, when you’re feeling small. When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all. I’m on your side, oh, when times get rough and friends just can’t be found. Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down.” –Simon and Garfunkel
“When the road gets dark, and you can no longer see. . . just let my love through a spark, and have a little faith in me. When the tears you cry are all you can believe, just give these loving arms a try and have a little faith in me.” –John Hiatt
“No one could ever know me, no one could ever see me
Since you’re the only one who knows what it’s like to be me
Someone to face the day with, make it through all the rest with
Someone I’ll always laugh with..
Even at my worst, I’m best with you, yeah..” -The Rembrandts
Since you’re the only one who knows what it’s like to be me
Someone to face the day with, make it through all the rest with
Someone I’ll always laugh with..
Even at my worst, I’m best with you, yeah..” -The Rembrandts
“May your tears come from laughing, you find friends worth having, with every year passing they mean more than gold. May you win, but stay humble…smile more than you grumble, and know when you stumble, you’re never alone.” –Jim Brickman (with Lady Antebellum)
“For the morning sun in all it’s glory, greets the day with hope and comfort too. You fill my life with laughter, and somehow you make it better, ease my troubles that’s what you do.” –Rod Stewart
And in honor of the 2 year anniversary of our engagement… here are the lyrics that I walked down the “aisle” to… to my husband, to my future. Love you, Casey.
“Lift up your head
Focus on every detail
Why does this illusion
Bring so much confusion
When all I can dream of is you?
Lift up your head
We’re rising with every breath
A liquid solution, a chemical fusion
And all I can dream of is you
Focus on every detail
Why does this illusion
Bring so much confusion
When all I can dream of is you?
Lift up your head
We’re rising with every breath
A liquid solution, a chemical fusion
And all I can dream of is you
Constantly feeling the earth spinning around
But I’m standing alone
With you I see stars in your eyes
In a trance I’m so high
With you I survive
Let’s get away now
Imagine there’s no one around
Imagine you’re not just a face in the crowd
There’s a new set of rules
No more pain or confusion
You’re numb to the world that you know
I’m constantly feeling
Like nothing’s bringing me down
‘Cause you’re always around
With you I see stars in your eyes
In a trance we’re alive
Ten feet off of the ground
Let’s turn it up now
I got you
I got you
I got you
It’s ready for you
I got you
I got you
It’s ready for you
Lift up your head
It’s amazing where everyone
Goes in the end
Why does this illusion
Bring so much confusion
When all I can dream of is you?
I’m on the ground
I’m off the ground
Ten feet off (when I’m with you)
Ten feet off (when I’m with you)
I could be true with you
I could be through with you
Don’t you get it? We’re alive
Completely out of sight
We’re running out of time
With love we can survive
Don’t you get it we’re alive
Completely out of sight
With love we will survive”

Weekend In Vermont
We FINALLY got to spend the weekend in Vermont with my parents. Per usual, we had a wonderful time – even if the majority was just spent talking with one another around the kitchen table. I’m so lucky to have them. SO so lucky. Here’s a few pictures of our trip (Casey got to experience Sugar on Snow for the first time!)
On the way to get sugar on snow (don’t be jealous of my cookie monster apparel!)
Mom and her puppies!
YAY SUGAR ON SNOW!
Casey’s excited!

Skeeter says….HI!
Love him <3
Hi Gryffindor!
How cute is Spock?
all four dogs, lined up to get treats from my Mom

A Picture Of You Last Year – Have You Changed?
October 16, 2010
This is a picture of me (and Jenn) dressed in our Halloween costumes that we wore for our Halloween party last year. Stacey took this picture of us the night we bought our costumes and tried them on. We make a great Sonny and Cher, don’t we?
How have I changed since this picture was taken? This photo isn’t even six months old yet, and I can say many things have changed…
The guy in this photo could use his left hand normally, never slurred his speech, and could walk straight at least 90% of the time. He also didn’t have any prescriptions, and no random pains in a certain spot in his head. I wonder if the guy in the photo (and the girl for that matter) would be smiling so bright if he knew he’d be riding in an ambulence after suffering a stroke 48 hours later? I like to think “yes”, but what do I know?
Being so recent of a photo, a lot of the points Jenn made had already happened for the guy in this photo. Although, he knew it would be hard to start a family, I don’t think he knew just how hard yet.
The guy in this photo didn’t know how well he and his wife could work together during tough financial times (although he suspected it).
The guy in the photo could also play New Super Mario Brothers on wii without unintentionally butt-bouncing every 5 jumps!!! 😛

DAY FOURTEEN
A picture of you last year – have you changed?
January 1, 2010
This girl had only been married only a little over 3 months.
This girl’s husband was “healthy as a horse” – he had not had a stroke yet.
This girl didn’t have any idea how hard it would be to start a family.
This girl was feeling like maybe (just maybe) the universe was done giving her a hard time.
This girl had never seen Daughtry or Bon Jovi in concert.
This girl had no idea how hard/stressful it is to try and sell a house.
This girl had not completed a triathlon – and believed she might not be able to do it even if she tried.
Another year later, she’s a little more experienced. She’s a little bit more jaded (especially this past month) – but she remains a very grateful person. . . because once again, she realizes how much she values and loves the people who surround her on this crazy journey.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 13
DAY THIRTEEN
Goals
I write goals all the live long day in my job. I write treatment plans for each and every 26-28 kiddos I work with at any given moment. In my progress notes, I have to refer back to the goals. When I was in school, I even created a treatment plan for myself (to prove their ridiculousness if nothing else). What I’ve come to learn is that you can plan all you want; you can look at a situation and see what needs and/or should and/or could change. Putting that into action? Well, that’s a whole other can of worms.
On the same token, I’m a very goal oriented person. I set a goal, and I go for it – (be careful if you get in the way!) To this day, there is only one official goal that I set for myself that I have not achieved. That is, I did not move to Mexico and learn to speak fluent Spanish. . . .yet. I also have goals for each day. If you look in my day planner you will find a list of everything I need to get done (for each job, and personal life) that is categorized by priority. I take great pleasure in crossing things off my list (and I sometimes will write down things I’ve already done, JUST so I can cross them off my list).
So. . . to sum that up, I am familiar with goals, and goal setting. I think I really only have a few true goals left in life (I consider goals different than my “Bucket List” of things I’d like to do before I kick the bucket).
—Raise a Family: Although this is not for everyone (and I once said I didn’t want to have biological children – only to adopt), I would love to have the experience of carrying and having children. I would love to experience raising a family. However, this is a tough goal – because I can’t control it. At all. And that kills me. But I know someday (one way, or another) Casey and I will be parents. And that will be a wonderful day. I’ve picked a wonderful Dad for my children and I can’t wait for that leg of my journey.
—Travel Cross Country: Okay, this might technically be only a Bucket List item – but I’ve upgraded it to “life goal” level simply because I MUST DO THIS!!!!!!!! There is so much out there beyond New England and I want to experience it! Redwoods! Grand Canyon! Yosemite! So much beauty to explore. Someday, when we’re old/retired, we’ll be hitting the road. Wave as we pass by 😉
—Figure Out My Career: Yup. I may seem like I’ve got it all figured out, but I really don’t know where things go from here. I’ve reached the top licensure I can get in social work. I love working with kids, I loved working with adults. Do I want a private practice? Do I want to get my Ph.D. and be a professor? WHAT DO I WANNA DO WHEN I GROW UP? My goals so far have been a) get undergrad b) get masters c) get independent clinical license. . . . so that happened last September and now I’m not sure where it goes. For now, I’m just enjoying getting the experience. I’ve enjoyed doing training in the trauma work that I do. I love working with the kidlets, but I could see someday when I have kids of my own, how hard this work could be. So who knows? But, I’m just trying to RELAX in this area and enjoy the ride 🙂
So those are my major goals. I know, it’s not much. My “bucket list” is a whole other story with things such as: go skydiving, go to Iceland, go back to Mexico, own a different house, train my dog to be a therapy dog, complete a triathlon in 2 hours, and run for 1 hour straight (there are more, but you get the idea).
So. . . what are your goals?

DAY THIRTEEN:
Goals
I have a few goals right now…
1.) Maintain my weight loss. This is just more of an everyday practice, but it’s something I keep in the back of my mind at all times.
2.) Live a long and healthy life with the woman I love. I want to have a long life, as long as it healthy and happy. I don’t need to live to be 120 with the last 40 years of my life spent in a nursing home in a wheelchair. I think I’m doing a good job at this, overall, with teh weight loss and the fact that Jenn makes me the happiest man alive! 🙂
3.) Raise a family. Whether its sooner or later, I really want to have kids. Luckily, Jenn shares this feeling. I can’t wait to be a Dad someday, and I really can’t wait to see Jenn as a Mom, because I know she’ll be perfect!!
4.) Do several unassisted pushups in a row. My upper body strength sucks. I’m hoping to improve it overall, and yesterday Jenn and I started the P90X training DVDs in order to tone upf or our cruise and in preparation of possibly doing a second triathlon. So building muscle is a major goal, but I really want to be able to do a real pushup, which I have never done!
5.) Have fun! This is a constant in my life. I always want to have a good time and try new ways to have fun, and luckily Jenn feels the same way! Just one of many reasons why we’re so good together! 😀
I could probably think of more, but I think this is enough for today!

DAY TWELVE (a day late and a dollar short)
Something you don’t leave the house without
This is a pretty easy one. I typically leave the house during the week with – my lunch bag, my work cell phone, my personal cell phone and my nalgene of water. On the weekends, I typically grab my cell phone and water. I’m pretty plain like that! Hopefully day 13 is a little more interesting!

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 12
DAY TWELVE:
Something You Don’t Leave The House Without
Every weekday, when I leave for work, I bring the following items:
My Cel Phone: Just got myself a DROID X, and it’s sweet! I use it to text little love notes with Jenn throughout the day.
My iPod: One of my most prized possessions! It was given to me by Jenn’s parents and Stacey for my 31st birthday! I listen to music a lot when I’m at the computer, and it helps the time pass as I’m drafting away!
My iPod Speakers: We found this at Brookstone on our honeymoon. Basically a tiny little dual speaker unit that plugs directly into the headphone jack of my iPod. It plugs in in such a way that it provides a little stand for the iPod. I don’t have an auxillary jack in my car, so on a lot of commutes, the iPod and speaker assembly go in my cup holder and I get to listen to my iPod!
My Wallet: It just seems like good sense to have my money and driver’s license with me.
My Water Bottle: The ‘ol Nalgene. Well, one of the several I own. I typically drink 3 or 4 Liters of water a day!
Chapstick: Currently using Yankee Candle Pomegrante that Stacey got me for Christmas. It’s candle shaped! Yay! It hasn’t come up yet, but I have sort of a…thing for scented candles.
On weekends, it’s typically just the cel phone, wallet, and water bottle, and sometimes the chapstick. But either way, I usually have the my pockets full, sometimes four or more pockets, depending on what pants I’m wearing!
