Kid: Oh you know. World domination stuff.
Me: What?
Kid: Oh, I wasn’t supposed to tell an adult. (10 y.o.)

Today I was taking a walk with two kids. One got very tired toward the end of the walk and became a wee bit whiny and refused to keep walking. I told her she could run ahead to a big rock and sit down to rest until I got to her. She then spent the rest of the walk trying to “beat me” home. Her brother said, “HEY! You tricked her didn’t you?” And I said “Me? No!” and then he said, “yes you did, adults and their trickery.” (6 & 9 y.o.)

Kid: Mrs G, I learned something today.
Me: Oh yeah, what?
Kid: Adults are totally boring. Can I be excused? (11 y.o. in a meeting with his parents and myself).
