Letters in my Mind

All day long, I roam around writing letters that I’ll never send in my mind. I’ve seen over time, a few bloggers do this kind of format and I thought it would be fun. Here are a few letters on my mind today.

Dear City of Portland,
I walked your streets today unexpectedly. Luckily, I have excellent balance (even while walking a 100 pound dog). I think that you could probably afford to sprinkle some sand and salt on the skating rinks that once were sidewalks. I don’t want to break my neck, and you probably don’t want a lawsuit. I don’t have time for that in my schedule. So, sprinkle away! Seriously…anytime now.

Dear You and You,
I am SO excited for you. Please forgive me for my distance from you. Self-preservation is important right now. I am rallying very hard to be strong at my broken places, and to accept and love my current reality. Right now that might mean I have to step away from your experience. But I’m here if you need me, so don’t be afraid to ask. I love you, and I know you’ll understand – so thank you.

Dear Apple,
Apparently everyone was right. Your products are like crack. That’s okay, because I love my iPod touch. I love being an iPerson. And I loved “Face Timing” with my parents last night. Thanks for bringing us closer. I’ll probably be cursing you in 2.5 weeks when you release THE NEWEST AND GREATEST EVER VERSION of the same thing I have, but that’s how you roll. I knew that going in.

Dear Blog Readers,
You all freakin’ rock. No really. I just want you to know that I appreciate those of you who come read my ramblings and those who even leave comments behind. I have made such cool connections around here, and just know that you are all very appreciated!

Dear FitBit,
You have made my friends and family think that I am insane. Yesterday, you motivated me to climb 100 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. Then you send me a great congratulatory e-mail, only to finish with “GEE, DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO 150?!?!?!” Can’t you just let me bask in my glory for a bit? Last week, you motivated me to take a walk at 10:00PM just to get 20,000 steps in. Then you send me an e-mail. “GEE, DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO 30,000 STEPS IN A DAY?!” Oh the pressure. But it works. Apparently I am highly motivated by your light up LED screen. Who knew it was so easy to get me moving? Thanks. I think.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

What is the Fitbit of which you speak??? It sounds like a drill sergeant!

In regards to your letter to your Blog Readers: I was just sitting here, reading through my feed reader and thinking, "Wow! I've met some incredible people through blogging and reading blogs. I feel so overwhelmed and grateful for each and every person I've virtually met, I wish I could write them all a letter." Except you already wrote it for me :).

  3. Popped in from SITS! Fitbit sounds like a aerobics teacher you love to hate–just when you're about to die they're like–just one more!

Great letters, I enjoyed every one! I'm thinking this could be a therapeutic exercise and just might have to try it out.

Can I borrow the letter addresses to Dear You and You….no seriously I could really use it for a few reasons. Loved all the other letters to, and what's FitBit, I've never heard of it but it sounds challenging so I like it!

Boy are we on the same boat in regards of sand and salt. Out here in Utah, they're usually good with them, but lately, it's been neglected. Slippery and dangerous. Love your letters and so true what you say about the FitBit. Sometimes they just push and push and push you. LOL.
